I feel like I just brought up Boogie Nights, but this story has me thinking about this scene:
I always said, years ago, when I hung out with a lot of people at American Apparel, that this is what the inside of Dov Charney’s house must look like. Crack pipe included.
Well, I was wrong. Instead of a 18-year-old boy lighting off fireworks, it’s an 18 year girl firing off a lawsuit – to the tune of $250,000,000. Irene Morales, now 20, alleges that Dov Charney on her 18th birthday, invited her to his Manhattan apartment, answered the door in his underwear (see above clip) and her forced her on her knees so she could, um, you know. He also held her hostage as his sex slave for several hours.
Allegedly Charney had been harassing Morales since she was 17 saying that he would fire her if she didn’t detail her previous sexual history and have sex with him on her 18th birthday. Morales started worked for AA in August 2007.
Court and Dov Charney go together like PB&J with the crusts cut off. Most recently, AA settled a 5 million dollar lawsuit with Woody Allen after they used one of his images in a billboard ad.
